Confirmation Statement – Summary
Since 2016, the confirmation statement replaced the annual return for UK companies. Every company director must submit a confirmation statement to Companies House to confirm that their business information is accurate and up to date.
Although late filing does not always result in immediate fines, failing to submit your confirmation statement is a legal offence. Directors may face penalties, and Companies House could begin the process of removing the company from the official register if the requirement is not met.
