UK company formation

Choose the right structure for what you're building. Every formation includes the Companies House fee and support from our Edinburgh team.

Digital

For founders who want a company fast, with digital documents.

£290one-off
incl. VAT
  • The £100 government fee Companies House charges to register a new company. It's already included in our price — there's nothing extra to pay.
  • A document for each shareholder showing how many shares they own. You'll often need it to open a bank account or prove ownership.
  • Every director and person with significant control must verify their identity with Companies House. As an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP) we can do it for you remotely and give you your personal code.
  • We register your new company with HMRC for Corporation Tax, so you're set up to pay tax on profits from the start.
  • Track your order, fill in company details, download your documents and message our team in one place — and ask us questions for as long as you're a client.

Privacy

For keeping your home address off the public register.

  • Everything in Certified, plus:
  • Your company's official address on the public register, where Companies House and HMRC send letters. Ours keeps your home address private; we scan and email your official mail.
  • The address shown publicly for each director instead of their home address. Your home address still goes to Companies House but stays private.
  • A professional business address you can put on your website, invoices and marketing.
  • A free .co.uk web address matching your company name, registered for you.
  • A written record of the company's first board meeting, which approves things like issuing shares and opening a bank account.

  • Everything in Privacy, plus:
  • We prepare and file your company's routine Companies House paperwork, so you don't miss a deadline.
  • We register your company for VAT with HMRC. It's compulsory once taxable turnover goes over £90,000 in 12 months, and optional below that.
  • We register your company as an employer with HMRC, so you can pay salaries (including directors') through payroll.

Which type of company do I need?

  • Private company limited by shares (Ltd) — the right choice for most businesses that want to make a profit and pay it to shareholders.
  • Company limited by guarantee — for not-for-profit organisations, clubs, social enterprises and charities. There are no shares; members guarantee a nominal amount.
  • Limited liability partnership (LLP) — for professional firms that want to be taxed like a partnership but with limited liability. Needs at least two members.
  • Public limited company (PLC) — for companies that want to offer shares to the public. Needs at least £50,000 allotted share capital and two directors.
